Joseph McCarthy Would Be Proud of Louie Gohmert

The late Joseph McCarthy’s soul surely was dancing over the shocking behavior of East Texas Congressman Louie “Terror Babies” Gohmert at a congressional hearing on Thursday. It gets especially outrageous at the 3:00 mark. Words fail.

  1. That kind of questioning deserves only one response:

“Sergeant-at-Arms. Please remove the Representative from Texas to the lobby and seal the chamber door so no one can enter until this proceeding is concluded.”

That’s the way I handle things like that.

  2. If anyone is interested, my fourth and last analysis of the new Tennessee Monkey Law is up on my blog at the following URL:

I am hearing through the grapevine that the Gomers of Tennessee feel so emboldened by their recent successes that they will be reaching for supercrazy when the Tennessee General Assembly reconvenes later this year. If so, you will get to watch firsthand the unfolding of the very things TFN is working so hard to prevent in Texas.

  3. Louie Gohmert is an unabashed and impolitic abusive person, who uses inflammatory language to try to score political points with the base of the Christian Republican Party. In a civilized society this kind of barrage questioning is not only ill advised but shows a lack of respect that is due to Sec. Napolitano.

  4. I don’t like the Department of Vaterland Security, I don’t like most of the agencies in it (save the Coast Guard), and I don’t like what they, through the Theft from your Suitcase Association (TSA) unconstitutionally subject free, innocent Americans to undergo at airports, to which they are beginning to add train and bus stations.

    Congressman Gohmert is worse.
