Interesting Timing, Chuck

We hope we don’t get beat down for daring to mess with Chuck Norris, but here goes.

For a while now, the movie and TV star — and now far-right icon — has been penning opinion pieces for the far-right propagandist website WorldNetDaily. In part three of what he calls the “Top 10 U.S. infiltrations of Shariah law,” Norris repeats a familiar far-right meme in which he accuses President Obama of being more concerned with advancing Muslim interests (and pro-Sharia radicalism) than he is with advancing America and its interests.

From Norris’ article:

There is no greater proponent of the partnership of America and Islam (and therefore Shariah) than President Obama himself. I’m not saying he is a Muslim but a Muslim advocate and apologist. He said it himself. He declared his explicit mission in Cairo in June 2009 for the whole world to hear, when he vowed to establish “a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world. … That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.” Have you ever heard of a president talk about “partnership between America and [the religion of] Islam”? And a presidential responsibility to “fight” for the Islamic religion? Or are we naïve enough to believe that Obama’s “fight” will never entail an advocacy for Shariah law when it permeates Islam?

Here’s where it gets ironic and amusing. Norris’ latest article was no doubt set to auto-publish, which it did … at 1 a.m. EST this morning, a mere 90 minutes after President Obama confirmed Osama bin Laden had been killed on his orders.

It would probably stand to reason that if President Obama is the Muslim-lovin’, pro-Sharia secret Muslim that Norris claims he is, then the president wouldn’t be too interested in killing bin Laden, who was A) Muslim, and B) pro-radical Islam.

The timing of Norris’ article was unfortunate — for him. But amusing for us.

  1. The killing of Usama by Obama ruins the “Obama-is-a-Muslim” nonsense.

Anti-Shari’a-ism depends on a ten foot villain, something made difficult by giving Usama the deep six.

  2. Chuck Norris is an example of “right wing nut” Christians, just as there are “right wing nut” Muslims. Remember the burning of heretics at the stake, by Christians? Extremism is a matter of history which still exists in the minds of “right wing nut” zealots in both religions. “God” is a matter of opinion, regardless of which religion is under discussion. The Founding Fathers understood, which is why they commanded that in the USA, “no religious test shall ever be required,” and why the First Congress commanded, “no law respecting an establishment of religion.”

  3. What Gene said.

Plus, vengeance feels pretty good, just as it says in the Old Testament.

  4. The death of bin Laden will have no effect on those who hate Obama. The only thing that might calm them down would be if Obama magically turned white overnight; and even that would not likely move most of them.

And, as far as removing the pro-Muslim tag put on Obama, that death will not change things, either — after all Muslims have been killing other Muslims since just after Mohammed’s time.

  5. I doubt that Norris wrote any part of this WorldNutDaily column attributed to him. I have trouble believing that he has sufficient intelligence to compose such a cogent statement; even as delusional as this one is.

  6. A couple of random thoughts:

    1) If Obama were to suddenly turn white, they would still call him “The President Who Was Formerly Black.”

    2) That may be one of the smartest things Gene ever said here. Religion is a matter of opinion. Faith is just an opinion very strongly held. However, in the final analysis, it really is each man or woman’s personal opinion.

    3) I have heard a lot of banter in the past 24 hours about how the killing of Osama Bin Laden means that we are really going to catch hell from Al Qaeda now. Do you know what I have to say to that:

“We may be gonna die, but this time we’ re gonna die happy.”

  7. Haven’t you heard yet? The whole Obama-kills-Osama thing is a gambit. How could Obama better hide his true intentions (destroying America and the World through Shariah) than by sacrificing his close buddy Osama. It’s a win-win. Osama dies a martyr believing he will go directly to the heavenly orgy and no one (but the eagle-eyed Right) can still suspect that Obama is anything but the archenemy of Islam (and the Arab street will hopefully go laong with it). Perfect conditions for the grand coup. America will never know what hid her when suddenly all women are either under the burqa or dead and all men wake up surprised about the long beards they suddenly grew.
It’s of course possible that all of this is a charade and Osama has just been turned into the Hidden Infame of Salafism (burial at sea? Don’t make me laugh!).

Unfortunately, there are enough people around who would take what I wrote above as genuine. Some have come out already with similar ideas. Oh Lord, let it rain brains! But add a manual or they will just eat them (with ketchup).
