Talking Points

From today’s TFN News Clips:

“The extent to which he can recover seems to me depends on his faith. He is said to be a Buddhist. I don’t think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So my message to Tiger would be, ‘Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.'”

— Brit Hume, a Fox News anchor, urging golfer Tiger Woods to convert to Christianity to receive forgiveness for his extra-martial affairs.

  1. Apparently, Mr Hume is not only an expert journalist, he is an expert in Buddhism. I suppose Tiger Woods should become a Christian so that he can mess around all he wants and still be forgiven – just like those great Christians John Ensign, Mark Sanford, Newt Gingrich, and a number of TV evangelists. That way, Mr. Woods gets it both ways: a new woman every night AND forgiveness. As long as you BELIEVE, you’re “saved.”

  2. I remember when Frank Reynolds, Peter Jennings, and Ted Koppel thought Brit Hume was a journalist. He sure fooled them!!!

  3. Mr. Hume is now pouting with outstretched lower lip over the negative response his remarks have incited. Makes me think he planned all along to say them, perfectly anticipating the reaction, so that then he could say Aha! See now how persecuted I am?

Poor poor Brit Hume, you poor thing. By the way, what is your salary again?
