We just sent out the following press release: Today Texas Freedom Network President Kathy Miller had the following comments on the end of the legislative session: “Going into this legislative session, culture warriors insisted that they would focus on divisive issues like passing private school vouchers, undermining sex education and continuing their attacks on women’s […]
Reproductive Rights
On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court of the United States released a ruling overturning Roe v. Wade. Today, abortion is banned in Texas except under very limited exceptions — and to make things worse, anti-abortion extremists are going after mifepristone, one of the pills used in medication abortion.
While there is much uncertainty about our reproductive rights in post-Roe America, there is one thing we do know: Our fight to make abortion permanently legal, safe, and accessible for everyone cannot and will not stop.
Texas Freedom Network supports efforts to ensure all Texans have access to abortion and other reproductive health care services. That access requires adequate state funding and the broad availability of birth control, especially for underpaid Texans.

Scores of family planning clinics closed around the state, and tens of thousands of women lost access to those critical services. But now the Texas Observer reports that the state even failed to spend federal […]
This Man Is Vile
One of the reasons abortion continues to be such a divisive issue is rhetoric like the following from Texas congressman Steve Stockman, R-Friendswood. In a press release on Monday, Stockman referred to Kermit Gosnell’s murder and involuntary manslaughter convictions in the deaths of three babies and a woman at a grisly abortion clinic in Philadelphia. […]

Apparently, it’s one step forward, then two steps back when it comes to the Texas State Board of Education.
