Just Texas, a project of the Texas Freedom Network, sent out the following press release today: Clergy from diverse faith traditions across Texas are calling on Gov. Greg Abbott to stop interfering with the freedom of women to see providers of their choice for health screenings, family planning and other reproductive health care services. “Women […]
Reproductive Rights
On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court of the United States released a ruling overturning Roe v. Wade. Today, abortion is banned in Texas except under very limited exceptions — and to make things worse, anti-abortion extremists are going after mifepristone, one of the pills used in medication abortion.
While there is much uncertainty about our reproductive rights in post-Roe America, there is one thing we do know: Our fight to make abortion permanently legal, safe, and accessible for everyone cannot and will not stop.
Texas Freedom Network supports efforts to ensure all Texans have access to abortion and other reproductive health care services. That access requires adequate state funding and the broad availability of birth control, especially for underpaid Texans.

Ted Cruz again, complaining about people who point out Republicans and other conservatives who want to make it harder for women to get access to birth control. But Sen. Cruz either doesn’t […]

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has insisted that the vile rhetoric of anti-abortion extremists played no role in the mass shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado. In fact, speaking at an event for his presidential campaign on Sunday in Iowa, Cruz bizarrely characterized the alleged gunman as a “transgendered leftist activist.” But it’s important to know that Cruz has closely […]
He Just Doesn’t Get It
“Last I checked we don’t have a rubber shortage in America. When I was in college we had a machine in the bathroom, you put .50 cents in and voila! So yes, anyone who wants contraceptives can access them, but it’s an utterly made-up nonsense issue.” That’s Texas Senator Ted Cruz at a presidential campaign event […]
