Talking Points

From today’s TFN News Clips:

“I think we’re going to see the same Cathie Adams we’ve seen for two decades. That’s somebody who uses extreme and divisive rhetoric to promote a political agenda and if you get in her way, whether you’re Republican or not, she’ll go after you.”

— Dan Quinn, Texas Freedom Network’s communications director, talking about Cathie Adams’ election as chair of the Texas Republican Party. Adams had been head of the far-right Texas Eagle Forum.

  1. “As recently as a few weeks ago, Adams warned that Hutchison would “not be there” for social conservatives if she’s elected governor. It wasn’t particularly surprising, since Adams had already endorsed Gov. Rick Perry, calling him the best pick for true conservatives in the GOP primary race.”

Read that terminology “…true conservatives…” as a certified Christmas dessert containing candied fruits and nuts, usually pecans and walnuts.

In my state, we had a female Republican Party head just like Cathie Adams. They could have been ideological twins separated at birth. I’ll never forget the philosophical and forward-looking sound byte quote that she made at the time of accepting office. Was it a salute to the party? Was it a dead ringer for the quotation reference books? Was it a pledge of party unity? Nay-y-y-y-y-y-y!!! It was: “This is the biggest thing I’ve been able to get so far.”

    Sigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
