Nearly all of the candidates for Districts 4, 6, 7 and 8 on the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) have accepted offers to post videos touting their qualifications and campaigns on Houston television station KHOU’s website. Education
Texas has an increasingly diverse public education system with a public school enrollment of more than 5 million. Unfortunately, that public education system is also the target of right-wing extremists seeking to privatize our neighborhood public schools and push a culture-war agenda in the classroom.
To that end, Texas Freedom Network tirelessly fights for Texas public school students at the Capitol — opposing private school voucher legislation, sticking up for students’ freedoms, advocating for truthful, censorship-free lessons and textbooks, and more. We’ve also conducted groundbreaking research into what is taught in classrooms on subjects like sex education and religion.

Former Texas Ed Board Creationist Don McLeroy on Colbert Report Tonight
This should be fun. McLeroy’s appearance on Stephen Colbert’s show comes after Friday’s premiere at the […]
Former Texas SBOE Member: Opposition to Teaching Creationism in Science Classrooms Is Like ‘Pre-Holocaust Germany’
Cynthia Dunbar sounds just as extreme as she was when she left the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) at the end of 2010. Dunbar spoke Sunday night in Dallas as part of a panel discussion after a screening of the new documentary film “The Revisionaries.” The film, which premiered on Friday at the Tribeca […]
