TXR HBCU Organizer
The Texas Rising HBCU Organizer will develop and lead Texas Rising’s statewide Historically Black College and University (HBCU) program. This role strengthens Texas Rising’s reach and builds local capacity aligned with statewide campaigns. This role oversees recruiting, training, and supporting teams of college-age students on assigned HBCU campuses to build grassroots power and implement civic engagement and issue-advocacy campaigns. The Advocacy and Field Organizer will work in Brownsville and will primarily focus on local and statewide advocacy on issues such as climate change, criminal justice, immigration, LGBTQIA+ equality, and voting rights. May also assist with voter registration efforts in the region and help manage a small team of organizers. This is a part-time position, working an average of 20-25 hours per week.
