Felicia Martin is the president and executive director for the Texas Freedom Network, a nonpartisan, grassroots organization of progressive religious and community leaders and young Texans based in Austin. TFN’s youth-organizing program, Texas Rising, engages Texans ages 18-29 through extensive voter registration campaigns, GOTV work, and training in grassroots advocacy. The organization’s Just Texas program brings together faith leaders in support of social justice, including reproductive freedom and abortion access as well as LGBTQIA+ equality. TFN works on a wide range of other issues as well, including voting rights, church-state separation, and opposition to school textbook censorship.

Felicia brings over two decades of experience championing equity and access for traditionally underrepresented communities. She joined TFN from The Jed Foundation (JED), where she served as Regional Director of Academic Programs for Texas. At JED, she led initiatives to improve mental health support for students across the state, particularly focusing on LGBTQIA+ youth and BIPOC students. As a strategic leader and skilled facilitator, she has played pivotal roles in organizations like EMERGE Fellowship and College Summit, where she developed innovative programs, cultivated teams, and secured critical funding to advance their missions. Felicia’s empathetic leadership approach and her ability to articulate a compelling vision have earned her recognition as a respected voice in the nonprofit sector.

Felicia is a queer, third-generation Tejana with deep roots in Texas. She is a proud mother and a dedicated advocate for equity and access — committed to uplifting traditionally underrepresented people.
