Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore is one of the most notorious anti-LGBT politicians in the country. In March 2015 he even railed against same-sex marriage at a rally at the Texas Capitol. He was joined at the rally by Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Attorney General Ken Paxton as well as other politicians. Today, however, Alabama's Court of the Judiciary suspended Moore from the bench for the remainder of his term because he had ordered probate judges in his state to ignore the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling last year striking down laws banning same-sex marriage.
