What is Texas Rising?

by Jake Patoski

Since 2006, the Texas Freedom Network Education Fund has been working to create a powerful base of young leaders (ages 18-29) across the state.

Texas ranks 51st in civic engagement.

Meaningful change in Texas requires that we increase the culture of political awareness and engagement. Young people, ages 18-29, represent 24% of the voting eligible population in Texas.

Texas Rising is working to engage this demographic to shift current civic engagement trends and to expand the Texas electorate with new lifelong voters.

We are committed to this work because developing an emerging generation of social justice-minded, informed and engaged leaders is essential to the long-term health of our communities and the development of progressive public policy in Texas.

We hope you’ll continue to support students, scientists and educators. We pledge to do the same. pic.twitter.com/qatD…
